Production Process

To better adapt to market demand, two main essential oil production processes are utilized: traditional water distillation and supercritical CO2 extraction.

Traditional Water Distillation

Traditional water distillation is generally conducted using atmospheric pressure distillation. In this method, the aromatic parts of the agarwood are crushed and then immersed in water for distillation. Under heating conditions, the essential oil and water form an azeotropic mixture inside the distillation pot. The agarwood essential oil escapes with the water vapor. After condensation, the oil droplets and water are separated, yielding the essential oil and hydrosol.

The essential oil extracted through traditional water vapor distillation is highly favored by royal families and dignitaries in Middle Eastern countries. Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Low-Temperature Extraction
